Engineering and moulds

Quality, time, and manufacturing costs are determined by the sheet metal mould.
That’s why we develop and manage it in-house.

01.

Every mould is designed, built and maintained within our plants. This is where the quality of the third-party components we produce comes from.

Building sheet metal moulds  in-house is not just an operational choice: it is the beating heart of our technical expertise and a relevant added value for every customer. Why? Because it entails fully controlling every step of the process without relying on external suppliers. This means responding faster to customer needs, responding quickly to any critical issues and ensuring consistent quality that is measured on thousands of parts. It means you can ensure flawless components that are built months, years later. This being due to the fact that if we have a well-made mould, the final products will be so too.

Our tooling and mould making service are available exclusively to customers who come to us for the mass moulding of the components.

From customer drawing to finished mould: how we work.

Technical analysis of the component

It all starts with the customer’s drawing. Our engineering department analyses the component geometry, materials, thicknesses, and production volumes required to evaluate feasibility and identify the most suitable cold-forming process – shearing, drawing, or a combination of the two. It is at this stage that our experience in the design of moulds for sheet metal emerges.

Design and industrialisation

Once the engineering solution has been defined, our engineering department develops the 2D and 3D mould design, simulating the behaviour of the component at different processing steps. The design also includes the evaluation of interchangeable inserts, which allow to obtain changes in the component to be obtained without the need for additional external machining. Every detail is designed for precision, repeatability and reduced scrap.

Optimising production process

Before we start mass production, we prepare a sample that is shared and validated with the customer. This is a critical step: it allows us to verify whether the mould is exactly what you need and to make any corrections before mass moulding. Production starts only when everything is perfect.

03.

We build and maintain every mould in-house: a string point for the process, an added value for the customer.

Moulds are fully built in our in-house mechanical department, with dedicated equipment and skills. But our effort does not end with the delivery of the first batch: every mould is monitored and maintained daily by our technicians, who intervene in advance to avoid production downtime and guarantee quality continuity over time. The customer buys the mould once and its maintenance is included, forever.
